Hike for the Kids

Each year the company funds and hosts a “Hike For The Kids.”  The hike has allowed hundreds of homeless and disadvantaged children from Carpenter’s Shelter and Fairfax County’s Be-Friend-A-Child program to have the chance to explore the Appalachian Trail and hike a day in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  This past year, the company’s employees and volunteers hosted 40 children for this fun-filled day.

Join Us on Saturday, November 2, 2024 for our 18th Annual “Hike For The Kids”

The day consists of a short hike (1.5 miles) on the Appalachian Trail in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains followed by a catered picnic with a performance by Top 10 recording artist Craig Honeycutt. Other activities include touch football, workshops, vineyard tours and harvest hayrides. Volunteers have the opportunity to interact with the children in any activities they choose. All expenses such as transportation, lunch, snacks and beverages will be paid for by the Commonwealth Consultants Foundation and private donations.

There are thousands of homeless and at-risk children in the DC area yearning for chances to learn and grow. Since 2004, our event has given over 300 children a special day away from the city with people who truly care and wish to serve as role models for them.

We hope you will join us and share in our 15th Annual Hike!
